Meet The Doctors



Dr. Mark Lebel

Dr. Mark R. Lebel, Jr. graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 1997 where he served as senior class president. He has been working at 1330 Dental Associates ever since. The grandson of the original building owner, oral surgeon Dr. Ray Lebel, Mark grew up and still lives in Falmouth with his wife and daughter. He attended Cheverus High School, Assumption College, and the University of Maine at Orono before graduating from Tufts. Dr. Lebel’s practice includes all form of general family dentistry including restorative dentistry, esthetic reconstructive dentistry, working with children, and implant restorations.



Dr. Joseph Mangone

Dr. Joseph Mangone practiced in New York for 4 years before relocating to Portland to join 1330 Dental Associates in 1988. Dr. Mangone is a 1982 graduate of New York University College of Dentistry and a 1978 graduate of Muhlenberg College. He completed a two year general dentistry residency at Nassau County Medical Center in New York from 1982-1984. Included in this post-graduate program was advanced training in all phases of general dentistry, particularly endodontics, periodontics, prosthetics, and restorative dentistry. Dr. Mangone served as a member of the local dental society’s ethics committee and as a member of the malpractice review committee while practicing in New York. He had been a team dentist for the Portland Pirates hockey team since their move to Portland in 1993.



Dr. James Bennas, Jr.

Dr. James Bennas, Jr. is a 1977 graduate of Tufts University School of Dentistry. He also has a BS from the University of Massachusetts in 1973. He has been practicing at 1330 Congress St in Portland since 1977. His practice has developed a strong emphasis in prosthetic and reconstructive dentistry.



Dr. Ralph Yarn

Dr. Ralph Yarn has been practicing with Dr. Bennas since 1984, providing a full scope of restorative and reconstructive dentistry including oral surgery, prosthetics, and intravenous anesthesia. In 1982, Dr. Yarn received his oral surgery degree following completion of a four year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency, which included advanced intravenous anesthesia training, at University Hospital, Jacksonville, FL. He is a 1978 graduate of Georgetown University School of Dentistry and completed his BS degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1974.
